Everyone has their own struggles that they need to overcome. The person next to you might be fighting against the demon within himself. There are a lot of instances wherein people end up pretending that they’re okay but in reality, they are not. They want to let others know that they are strong despite the fact that they are slowly breaking apart.

One of the saddest things that could ever happen to a person is to see their world falling apart rather than falling into right places. Everyone is fragile. Everyone is scared. Never let anybody fool you with the statement that they can do anything and everything. Maybe because they don’t want other people to pity them. If you are this kind of person, you are not alone.

As what stated in a Michael Jackson song, “You are not alone. I am here with you”. There are seven billion people in the world. In that number of people, expect that there will be one or even two person who is willing to help you. Even strong heroes have sidekicks. You might want to have one.

Here are some of the reasons why everyone needs a little help sometimes.

You need to talk your feelings

It does not matter if you are sad, lonely, or afraid. All you need to do is be true to yourself and to your feelings. Once you have started to talk with what you are feeling, people will learn to understand you. Hiding your feelings might mean carrying a heavy luggage inside you. If you will going to talk about what you feel, you get to know more about yourself, too.

As stated in Kids Health, the following are the things you need to do in order to be familiar with what you feel.

  • Think of the name for how you feel
  • Think of why you feel that way
  • Put them together into words

Just a little story, back when I was a member of an organization in grade school, the moderator let us sing ‘No Man Is An Island’ by Joan Baez. I was in second grade that time and the lyrics seemed to be insane for my age. But, as I grew older, the lyrics can greatly affect you in any way.

No man is an island. No man stands alone” was the first two stanzas. It was then followed by the phrase “We need one another”. It is true. No one can ever survive a deserted island without any companion. There might be people who enjoy being alone, but at the end of the day, everyone still needs someone they can talk to.

If you feel like you are breaking apart, always remember that you’ll still have someone you can rely on. Letting other people know about your dilemmas isn’t a sign of being a coward. A lot of people find it difficult to admit their strategies and people who can do that are as stronger.

Sometimes, you just need a little help from anyone. But, at the end of the day, you are the only person that can lift you up. No matter how many people offered their help to you, if you don’t even have the willingness to get yourself out, sorry but you can’t escape any of your problems.

Have you already read the poem written by William Ernest Henley, entitled Invictus, “I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul”. Yes, you may need a little help but the best help that you could ever get is the help you can get from yourself.

Falling apart might be the saddest thing ever but picking yourself up after every circumstances you’re facing is the most beautiful thing you can ever do to yourself. Take your time. You don’t need to rush everything.
